Karim Benzema thought he had broken the deadlock 30 minutes into the match, when he rolled the ball into the goal. But after a VAR check Fabinho was penalized for a foul in the build-up.
4.Al Ettifaq
Al Ettifaq’s defense has been one of the few points for celebration this season, and it managed to repel Al Hilal initially before ultimately succumbing to two quickfire first-half goals. As he has done so many times this season, midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic arrived at the right place at the right time to head Al Hilal ahead from Ruben Neves’ corner.
Then came the hammer blow in the first half of injury time, when Salem Aldawasari ran clear of Al Ettifaq’s defense before calmly slotting a right-footer into the bottom corner.
This could have been one of the trickier fixtures facing Jorge Jesus’ team in the run-up to the end of the season, but instead, his players continued their imperious march toward a 19th Saudi Pro League title for the club.
Next up for Al Hilal is a mouthwatering league and AFC Champions League double-header against soon-to-be-dethroned Saudi champions Al Ittihad.

Al Fateh hired Tunisian head coach Fathi Al-Jabal in the middle of the 2007-08 Saudi First Division League, in the 2008-09 season Al-Jabal finished as runners-up to guide Al Fateh to their first ever promotion to the Saudi Professional League. The club managed to stay up in the Saudi Professional League in their first ever top flight season. In the following two seasons the club set out to build a formidable squad, with Al Fateh already possessing talented home grown players such as Hamdan Al-Hamdan and Mohammed Al-Fuhaid, they also acquired the services of Congolese forward Doris Fuakumputu and former Al-Nasser Attacking midfielder Élton.
These all clubs are great at their places.
